Blue the Umbrella Cockatoo - 1158

HELLO (LOUD)

My name is Blue, I am the most beautiful looking male Umbrella Cockatoo. I

know I am beautiful and I just love to leap around and show all you humans

just how beautiful I am. I am not very old, so I have lots and lots of energy. I

am also very loud, very destructive and a bit naughty about going to bed. I'm a

typical cockatoo ! I am in love with the man of my safe house, but I will go to

anyone when I choose. Sometimes I get a little too excited and will bite. I do

confess to hating feet. Smelling things don't you know.

I really need some one who has lots experience with large cockatoos and can

spend lots of time with me, but not spoil me. If I get too spoiled I tend to get hard to handle. That's a

cockatoo's prerogative don't ya know.

Pepe the African Grey - 43

Hi, i am Pepe a 11 year old African Grey. I have plucked my chest but trying not to

pluck my new feathers at the moment.I love woman and will tolerate men, older

children, other birds and animals as long as they don't get to close. I will step up

and say "come on" when i do. I like to be out of my cage exploring especially the

kitchen always looking for food mmm... I like my food or your food! I talk and mimic

alot of sounds [my safe house mummy sometimes thinks she's in the middle of a

Star-wars battle]. I will say NO! to myself when I am just about to do something

naughty. In the evening I like to be on the arm of the chair next to you watching the

TV, listening to music or looking at the PC, while you type away I will have a little

nap, when I get to know you I will cuddle and sleep next to you and say "I love you"

"Pepes a good boy" occasionally.

I have my own cage and toys [not really interested in the toys] and living in Devon

Joel the Indian Ringneck - 1086

My name is Joel, I am four months old, so am just a baby. I was only in my

previous home for three weeks so had not had a chance to get used to people.

In my safehouse, I like to be out of my cage and am happy just watching what

goes on. At the moment I wont be handled and am still quite nervous if you

come too close, and still panic when my food and water is being changed and

hands come in. I really need to be settled in my forever home asap, with a nice

mum and dad and maybe another ringneck who could be my best friend.

Reg the African Grey - 1324

Hello !

I am Reg an African Grey. I am well feathered and like to come out of my cage. Lots! I

am friendly and like to sit and be stroked and I have a full vocabulary which you will

enjoy. I like premium seed and fresh fruit and veg. My only problem is one of my

wings has been badly cut and until my feathers grown again you will need special

care and not let me fall.

Hey There, My name is Pasco and I am a Green Cheeked Conure !

I enjoy coming out of my cage and enjoy chatting all day long, but I am 'not to loud'.

Honest guv! I like my seed (parrot premium) and love my daily fresh fruit and veg. I

am fully feathered and very pretty. Oh and did I mention that I'm friendly when out of

my cage ? No, well I am !

I have my own pad (cage to you humans) and am currently living in Kent.

Rosie the Lesser Sulpher Crested Cockatoo - 1063

I am Rosie, I am 3yrs old, I am so beautiful and feather perfect.

I am looking for a new mum and dad to look after me forever.I had not

been out of my cage for a long time because my mum was very poorly. so

I am not as tame as I should be.I went to stay with my safehouse people,

but I hated them big time, and I was determined I would not have anything

to do with them. Their daughter on the other hand was a different kettle of

fish, she never tried to catch me, and she was my kind of person. I let her

tickle my head and neck and even my belly, and took some lovely juicy

apple from her. I talked a lot to her and was upset when she went home.I

am going on a short vacation to visit her, and see how I am, but would like

for any prospective fosterer to visit me first, just so I can give them the

once over, I will only go home with them if I like them. I can tell right away whether we will get along.I

am sure that with the right mum and dad I will be a very loyal and loving girl, and they will be very

proud to have me.

I'm living in Cumbria at the moment. I have my own cage.

Ozzie the Galah Cockatoo - 1172

G'DAY all, My name is Ozzie.

I'm a Galah from Australia, and I love to fly. I'm reasonably friendly, but prefer

people with confidence to handle me. cos like all Galahs I am fussy! I seldom bite,

but a bare ear is irresistable, just calling out for a nibble. I like biscuits, and

sometimes a roasted monkey nut, but not walnuts or brazils, erghhhh! I'm looking

for a family who will let me fly a lot. I don't mind dogs, they make soft landings for

me. I am spectacularly beautiful, the pics don't do me justice, especially when I put

up my crest! All in all, I'm probably the best looking bird in Birdline. Completely

unbiased, of course.

I live in Coulsdon at the moment.

Archie the African Grey - 993

I am Archie and I have a super vocabulary. I know nursery rhymes and I often chat away to anyone

or anything foro hours. I always say 'good morning, breakfast time, dinner time and bedtime'.

I must be out of my cage most of the day so I need to live with someone who is at home all day. I

prefer women to men. I do NOT like hands and although I do not bite normally I will try to if you go try

to touch me. I go in and out of my cage as I please. I need someone who will work me and love me

for who I am.

I do not like young children and I can be nervous when they are around.

I eat fruit and veg but only off of a skewer. I will NOT eat them if placed in a bowl.

I am nervous of any loud noises and when I am nervous I shake my head. I do not like other birds!!!

I am in Epsom, Surrey at the moment. I have my own cage.

Jasper the African Grey - 1057

Hello my name is Jasper and I am a fantastic bird will lots of lovely

qualities wanted in a long life companion, I am a very independent and

brave bird. I love other birds and will try to feed them whether the other

bird is an amazon or another grey. I enjoy my food very much and I eat

almost any think that is offered to me, I like plenty of time out of my cage

and I will play all day.

I do decide who I will go to and I will let you know with various head

waving and bobbing and feather fluffing.

I will choose who I like and who I dont. I will sit on my chosen persons

shoulder or arm all day (if I am allowed) and just recently I have learned to

sit on a hand, and I can now step on to a stick ok.

I have no preference on what sex my new carer is as long as I like them.

NB Anyone wishing to offer this little man a new home would need to meet the bird in his safe house

before any decision is made.

Hello I am a very nice young man called Osca, I do pluck my feathers a little bit, but not as much as I

used to. I am a really friendly young man and I like all people. I love to eat and I will eat anything I am

given. I can step up and I love my tickles and cuddles. I nned a nice new home with lovely people

who will play with me. I can talk a bit and am learning lots of new things to say. Please can anyone

find a space for me.

Hello, I am a nice little girl and I am really friendly once I get to know you.

I was a bit sick when I came in, and had to see the bird doctor!, I have a

vitamin A deficiency and now I am having supplements. I also have to

have plenty of fruit and veg (Yuk I don’t like fruit) and I have to have as

much natural sunlight as possible. (mmmm sunbathing, nice..). I am not

keen at all on other birds, but I love humans and the way that they can

tickle and scratch me. I can step up (clever see) and I do talk a little bit. I

would like a new family to live with so that I can finally settle down and

enjoy life. I can be a bit of a little miss, so I will need to live with someone

who can deal with that. I am not keen on dogs I am afraid so a home

without any would be really nice.

I'm hanging out in the West Midlands at the moment. If I come to live with you, I can bring my own

cage !

Rico the Yellow Naped Amazon - 1337

Hi everyone I am Rico, and I am approx 9 years old, I have lived with my

previous mummy all on my own for all of my life, I will eat absolutely

anything! I do not like men or small children but I love women! I am fine

with dogs and with teenagers.

I have a big vocabulary and I do like to use it, I can sing and I can talk. I

am fit and healthy I would love a new home with a nice lady who is home

most of the time and who can play and sing with me. I am used to being

out of my cage most of the time. I do not like anything that is Red! is there

anyone out there for me???

My name is Jasper and I have a bit of an attitude but I am a very funny bird. I need someone to work

with me who can calm my attitude down a bit. I am a vocal lad who likes to whistle POP GOES THE

WEASEL & I wolf whistles a lot,

I talk, laugh and I make the usual Amazon noises. I love my toys and I like showers . I love to be out

on top of my cage and also like to wander round the house but I can chew cables, wiring and wood if

I am not supervised. I like to listen to the TV and radio. I am fine with other animals but I hate the wild

birds outside, I am frightened of them. I do bite sometimes so I need teaching calmly that it is

unacceptable to be aggresive.Other times I can be a complete sweetie. I love food, I adore mint and

basil leaves on a stalk and I always want a bit of what ever you are eating.

Silver the Yellow Headed Amazon - 1334

Hi my name is Silver. I'm a yellow crowned amazon. I have only come into

birdline because my owner is very poorly. He loves me very much, so we

are both sad. I am 6 years old. I am not very noisy and i love my food. I do

prefer men, but some ladies are okay. I like them to tickle my head, but

only when I am in the cage. Men on the other hand i love. I am a little

nervous at first but once i have become confident with them, I like them to

hold me, cuddle me and tickle me as much possible. I do pluck my back

and change makes me do it more. I have my own cage which has lots of

toys.

Hiya everyone, My name is Jasper and I am an Orange Winged Amazon, I came to Birdline when the

people who had me couldnt keep me anymore, I was found under a car so no one knows how old I

am. I dont know how to step up but with time I would be willing to learn, I am just a bit scared of

hands at the moment. I can talk and I make some nice clicks and pops!. I love my toys especially the

one with the bell on which I like to ring!, I also love listening to the radio (some interesting stuff on

there!). I do like attention and I like to join in conversations. I have no problem with those 4 legged

hairy things that bark. Has anyone got a small space in their home and thier heart that I can occupy?

Trevor the Yellow Headed Amazon - 1317

You may already know me from my picture on the forum but for those who

dont let me introduce myself. My name is Trevor and I came to Birdline

becasue I lived with another Amazon and we used to talk to each other

and make a noise. When I came in I had a very long beak and I couldnt

eat properly so Birdline arranged for me to have a 'face lift' so to speak

almost immediately , it didnt hurt a bit! and I now have a lovely new beak

and I can eat and drink just fine, I can preen myself now as well

hoorayyyy!!. I dont like being touched much at the moment cos I havent

been touched for years and its all a bit strange, but I am sure that if I can

trust someone again I will probably enjoy tickles and cuddles again, I like

to be talked to and I love to laugh espceially if people are laughing. I can say 'Hello', I have some

lovely noises as well which sometimes can be a bit loud, and I have a few that I do if my food bowl is

taken away!! I do throw my toys out of the pram until I get it back (filled up of course) cos this eating

food lark is great! I am really enjoying all this new food. I would like a new home where I can settle

down and have friends.

Charlie the Australian Crimson Winged Parakeet - 295

Gday everyone!

Well unfortunately I have to find a new home as my Foster Carer is ill and I need to leave. I have

lived with them for 4 years, I am 8 years old. I am very much a loner, I dont like other birds much and

wouldnt like to live anywhere where there are lots of birds. I come out of my cage when I feel like it

and like to have a fly around. I will land and sit on your arm and I do like a good old chin wag, I also

whislte tunes very well, and I can do some nifty ring tones!. I prefer men to women and I dont mind

little people either (I just dont like other birds). I am a bit of a fussy eater , I do like my walnuts and I

must have a couple every day!. I am a very friendly bird and I am VERY pretty.

My current home is in Stoke on Trent and I have my own cage.

Bobby (aka Henrietta) the Orange Wing Amazon - 1160

Hey There,

I escaped from my home, someone found me, and handed me in to the

RSPCA, they sent me to Birdline, boy am I glad they did. The RSPCA

called me Henrietta (can you believe that!) anyway I am now called

Bobby, that’s so much easier to say!. I am a young lady and I really am

very sweet. I don’t make hardly any noise and I just adore attention from

women. I don't like men.. they are yuky. I actually will come and find a lady for a tickle. If you say

‘that’s nice’ to me I will ruffle up my feathers so you can tickle me. I like being fed and I love food. I

like to sit out on top of my cage all day and I love watching TV and listening to the radio. I don't know

how to set up, but they are trying to teach me. I can be a bit shy when I first meet people and

sometimes if you push me I might nip a bit, but once I know you I am lovely. I don’t mind the

company of other birds or dogs, but I don't like children. I can talk a little bit but I am still learning. I

would love to live with a nice lady somewhere who will love me and where I will have some company.

I currently live in Maidenhead, Berkshire and I don't have a cage. When I find my forever home, I

really need an open top cage. Thanks !

Cordy the Alexandrine Parakeet - 1062

My name is Cordy and I am a lovely female Alexandrine, it is thought I am about 10 yrs old and I am

very nervous of people. I live indoors and until recently would not come out of my cage. I now like to

come out and fly about and perch up high. I don't come to a hand at all, and my temporary mummy

has to convince me to go back in my cage I like other birds, I talk a litte and make various noises. I

love my food and eat most veggies and fruit. With time and aot of patience with me I could come to

trust you, I have no malice in me, just no real trust of humans if they come close. I like ladies more

than men, men make me extra nervous.

Henry the Mealy Amazon - 1128 & Polly the Blue Fronted Amazon - 1321

Hi We are Henry (mealy amazon) and Polly (Blue fronted Amazon). We have

become very close friends after a long life of being on our own. We are both well

into our twenties, well in fact Polly is nearer 30 but she can be a bit touchy about

her age. Well in fact she can be a bit touchy about anything. She has not been

out of her cage for most of her life so she loves to be out now but she can be

nasty towards people. She will fly at them and try to attack. She will eat anything

and is beautiful condition. She can also be very chatty.

Well what can i say about myself. I am very very quiet for an amazon. I love to

come out with Polly and I sit most of the day preening her and looking after her.

I not very keen on people myself and like to be left alone. I love to play with toys.

I also have an old wing injury that means i have some feathers missing. This

does not cause me any problems but i'm not a very good flyer. I'm a little over

weight which does not help with the flying but I do love walnuts so much its hard

to loss weight when your my age.

we really would love a home that can care for our needs and love us but not

worry about getting to much love back. We are in Worthing, West Sussex

Norman the Blue Fronted Amazon - 1113

Ok!, I am getting on somewhat now, and I just like a quiet life, I am 30

years old, I am not noisy and am very easy to care for. I love to be

cuddled and tickled and I like to be out of my cage as much as possible, I

don’t go far I just like to while away my days on the top of it. I really don’t

like cats, dogs, or other birds, (am quite a grumpy old so and so where

they are concerned). I really would like a home where there are none of

those things just lovely people who can tickle me. I love women but do not

like men.

Beaky the Meyers Parrot - 1309

Hi, my name is Beaky and I am a Meyers Parrot.

I am quite sweet to my safehouse Daddy, but I HATE my safehouse

mummy (she is a scary lady) so I think I would prefer a forever Daddy

rather than a Mummy who I may not like! I can be a bit nippy especially if I

don’t like you. My new Daddy must like Tomato soup as I LOVE to share!

Also my new Daddy must be a Tee Totaller (either that or only drink

alcohol when I am in my cage) as I am very partial to a glass of wine but

my mean safehouse parents WILL NOT share as they say Alcohol is

VERY bad for parrots (I just think they are Mean!). I love to come out of

my cage and fly around, I don’t mind bigger birds I just ignore them, but I am a bit of a bully with birds

smaller than me, nothing too nasty, just telling them I am the boss. I need a home where someone is

home most of the day as my previous owners both worked so I got bored and plucked out some of

my feathers. I do come with a cage but ir is broken so I desperately need a new pad. Looking forward

to finding a new forever home, where’s the Soup!

Hiya my name is SugarPlum and I am a lovely Senegal I am four years old I prefer men, I can be a

little aggressive towards women, I like to be out of the cage alot to fly around, I am very friendly and

handleable with a man, I love my fruit and veg, I am not very noisy, and I can make microwave noise

and kissing noises.

My friend Jojo,is a little yellow Cockatiel, she can be quite bossy but will step up after a little hissing,

she likes to be out for a fly around, she is four years old, she likes both men and women, in fact she

is a typical tiel!

We both are currently living in Cheshire and we have our own cages.

Chucki the Senegal - 1042 & Fergie the Cockateil - 1042

Hi my name is Chucki. I am a Senegal. I came to bird line with my friend Fergie.

We were both very sad as our owner had just passed away. We were very

distraught when we arrived at the safe house. We did not want to make friends, so

we used to bite a lot and we would not step up. We sat in our cages wanting to be

left alone. I am a quicker learner than Fergie and I have learned that I want to be

loved. I prefer to live with men but I will put up with ladies if I have to. Fergie is still

a little wary with people, but loves to be around dogs. She shows no fear with our

four legged friends, unlike me, I like to sit on top of my cage and watch them play

on the floor. If there is a man in the room I will sit with him. It’s even better if he has

got junk food (but when I am caught pinching, I get put back on my cage) they

make me eat vegetables and fruit, which I like but I would prefer quavers! Fergie

will step up and be handled as long as her four legged friends are not around. She

is a good girl and eats her five a day and stays clear of all those calories. The sex

of the owner does not matter to Fergie, she puts up with anyone. We both live in

separate cages as we like our space but we can play out at the same time. We will

be bringing our cages with us and we both love spray showers. We are also fine

with children. Is there anybody out there who could offer us a loving home for the rest of our days.

We promise we will make every minute special, as we are very special birds.

Poppit & Porsha the Jendaya Conures - 1198

Wheyyyyyy here we come!!!

We are 2 lovely Jendaya Conures and we are both 5 years old, we have lived together forever!. We

are very entertaining and love to play. We are conures though and we can be a bit noisy. We love to

come out and play and Poppit loves to sit on a shoulder (but he does like to nibble ears), we are not

that keen on this fresh food stuff and we are told that we have to ger used to eating it, so we need a

bit of help with that. We both step up very nicely but like all little conures we just dont like going back

into our cage lol. We do prefer women and we are really not keen on those little people , we prefer

big people. We would love a new home with a nice lady who will play with us.

We are living in Brixham at the moment and we come with a cage.. how about that !

Tuppence the Senegal - 1123

Well I really hope someone can help me, my name is Tuppence and I am a

Senegal, I have been in an indoor cage for as long as I can remember and I am

not a cage bird, I lived in an aviary but someone took me and put me in a cage.

I would really love to live back in an aviary with other senegals, but I cant do

that now until its warmer. I am very very lonely at the moment. I don’t know if

anyone out there has a lonely Senegal that I could maybe be friends with then

we could have an aviary in the spring.

I'm currently hanging out in Couldson. No idea where that is.. ask a human..

they know that kinda stuff.

Thomas the Nanday Conure - 1065

Hi I am Thomas.

I don't know how old I am but I m a friendly kind loving little bird. True I can kick up a rackett, but in

return I'll sit on you shoulder, give you kisses, and face rubs, I don't like hands but in time I may grow

to love and trust enough. I spend lots of my day sat on my temporary daddy's shoulder, he talks to

me and lets me cuddle up to his neck which I love. I love to visit other birds, and I am a friendly chap

and when its time to go into my cage, well all you need do is ask. I am an absolute joy to live with so I

am told, as I am a real cuddle bunny.

Ernie the Cockateil

Hiya everybody!

Here I am!! I am a sweet little cockatiel, (they think I may be a girl) although I am called Ernie!. I am

really really well behaved and a joy to live with (that's what my safe house says). I like to have a bit of

a fly around now and again, I am not destructive, I am not noisy, I am well behaved, what more could

you ask for eh ? I'm currently libing in Guildford and I come with my very own cage.

Purdy the Nanday Conure - 1028

Look at me!! Look at me!!

My name is Purdy (but my nickname is Buggerlugs). I am happy that Birdline

took me as I was spending quite a bit of time in the Cupboard under the stairs at

my last home, as I can be a bit noisy but I AM a Conure!. It wasn’t nice at all, it

was dark and I was lonely and scared.

The people that I live with now have been really nice to me and I quite like being

handled . They tell me that I need to eat a better diet, I am trying all this new

stuff, as I didn’t have very much before. I am told that I need to continue doing

this at my new home. Because I wasn’t fed very well, I have a problem with my

beak, and I will need to visit that scary Avian Vet man, for the rest of my life. I prefer ladies to men

and I would be really over the moon if I could have a new mummy to love. I am not very old only

about 4 years, so I have a long way to go. I am not a very big bird so I don’t take up a lot of space, I

love to be out so if there is anyone who has a space in their lives for me I would be the happiest bird

ever.

Oh and I'm currently living in Barnsley and have my own cage.

Bertie & Denny the Cockateils - 1189

Hiya all, Bertie here with my friend Denny, we are 2 Cockatiels and we have lived together for a while

now. We don’t like being handled and ideally we would like to live in an aviary BUT our old owner,

clipped off my wings and poor Denny has had one of her wings butchered so we cant go outside. We

will grow them back again and hopefully next year we can go and live with someone who has a nice

aviary and we can sit in the sun together. We are currently living in Kent and we have our very own

cage. Cool huh !

Laurel & Hardy the Male Cockateils - 1025

Ok so we are a pair of comedians, but really, did they have to name us Laurel and Hardy!! We are

both between 3 and 4 years old and have been living together all this time. We are a couple of happy

chappies. Hardy likes to fly around but Laurel is not so bothered and is happy to stay in our cage.

Since coming into Birdline we have been treated like Kings and are now fed on Harrisons pellets and

Deeside water, and we quite like the stuff. We can whistle and sing and just need some new adult

friends to let us live with them forever. We promise to be good, we don’t mind if we have to share our

new people with other birds just so long as they love us as well. We are currently living in Scotland,

but we come with no cage.

Taz & Sky the Budgies

We are two little budgies that are desperately looking for a new home.

Sad We are very well behaved and no problem to anyone. Our safehouse

feeds us fruit and we do sometimes eat it but we don't like veg. Our cage

is in very good condition although a little bit small for us. Taz is green, a

little girl. I am Sky, obviously blue and although I am smaller than Taz I

like to think I wear the trousers. We have a very good relationship with

each other and would love to find a forever home. Please apply for us, we

Julie (aka Punk) & Augustus the Cockateils - 958

Hi There, my name is Punk and my friend here is Augustus. We are a pair of Cockateils and are best

friends.

I met Augustus in June of 2007 when Augustus was just 11 months old. Augustus immediately fell in

love with me (well of course) but it took to me a little longer to get used to sharing my space.

We are absolutely lovely birds if I do say so myself. We love being spoken to, whistled to and love to

sit on top of our cage all day long. I think our new home will need someone who is able to be home

all day with us as we get scared and will scream if left alone for long periods of time.

My friend Augustus will happily step up on a perch and I will step up on your hand (but only after

getting to know you of course) We also love to get our heads scratched but only by people we trust.

Augustus likes to explore and will investigate anything and everything. She also loves her toys.

Another love she has is food. Toast is her absolute favourite followed by crackers. Me on the other

hand, I don't eat much. We both enjoy lettuce, cucumber and occasionally some apple. I can be very

cautious of new food.. erm.. well anything new for that matter. I hate it when things change and I

needs everything in my cage to be kept exactly the same to so I feel secure. I HATE it when other

birds come near my cage.. it makes me scream with worry !

We love to get a spray shower on a daily basis but not first thing in the morning as we need some

time to wake up. In October last year Augustus and I started building nests out of newspaper and we

have been showing off to each other.. you know.. in a sexy way ! but we have not.. ahem.. done

anything yet.

We are not noisy birds and will whistle only a couple times a day. Oh and we have a huge cage that

we call home.

Ollie the Mitred Conure - 1117

Hey dudes ! My name is Ollie and I'm a Mitred Conure. I'm a happy

chappy and I've been told that I'm a lovely natured bird.

I love a good head tickle when in my cage but I don't really like to be

touched when out of cage. I'm easy to get back in my cage by simply

opening the top and I'll go straight in. I can sometimes be a bit nippy but

not in any aggressive way, it's just my nature. I must admit that I do love

the attention of other birds but I don't really like smaller birds.

I think my new home should already have some feathered friends that I can play with. I love to just

play and chew ! Oh and I have a bit of a confession.. I love to make noise, especially in the morning

and evening ! I can also be noisy when I see my human friends eating.. I wanna eat too ! My current

Milo the Mealy Amazon - 1080

Hi ! My name is Milo and I am 61/2 years old. I am a lovely but shy Mealy

Amazon. I am told that I am quiet for an Amazon !!

So, a bit about myself. I really don't like loud noises as they really frighten

me. I don't mind other birds as long as they are quiet like me. I love to just

sit on the top of my cage and watch the world go by. I don't mind being in

my cage if my new carer has to work, as long as it's not too long. I eat

really well and I'm in great condition (just ask the ladies !!) I love oranges,

apples, strawberries and grapes, but my favourite is home cooked meat

and potato pie! Yummy !!

I've been told some places have children and other animals but since I haven't met any yet, I can't

really tell you if I like them or not. They might be scary.

I have no real preference between a man or women, I like both. I get a bit scared when my human

friends put there hands near me, but I think with a little work I will get over that. If I do get a little

scared I can always give you a little warning nip.. you know, until we are friends.

I've got my own cage and everything ! It's got lots of lovely toys. Oh and I am currently living in

Cannock, Staffordshire.
