Henry the Mealey Amazon
Hi my name is Henry, I am gorgeous and big. teehee
I am very striking for an Amazon as my safehouse mummy says a lot of amazons look dull (cheeky), but not me! I am a big bird and so far my safehouse mummy has heard me say “Hello”, "I'm a good boy" and "Come on". I may say other things but I am not sharing so far! I will take food from your hand and I LOVE a good head rub, I am not very good at stepping up, but my safehouse mum thinks with a bit of “work” that should be easily sorted. I am a friendly chap, but will need time to get used to you. I am a bit scared of hands, but won't bite unless I get really scared. I'm a gentle giant really. I have not been noisy at all since I have been here, which is nice for my safehouse friends.
Henry is in Maidenhead and does NOT come with a cage.
Crocket the Senegal
Hello my name is Crocket!
I am a little old man (or lady….I’m not telling), I am a bit of a grumpy so and so, but I can be cute. I am quite easy to keep and care for, I just need a forever home to have my retirement in. I need to be warm and somewhere where the action is going on (not left on my own). I am happiest left in my cage, but I may change my mind if I went somewhere with less birds. At the moment if I come out of my cage I really am not to keen and I tend to hide underneath it, which worries my safehouse mum. I am not worried about children, other pets or birds, just set in my ways and like what I like ok! I like to spend most of my time sleeping under my newspaper at the bottom of the cage, DO NOT disturb me when I am napping or I will NOT be happy. Because of this special care needs to be taken to keep my cage clean otherwise I end up with mucky feet which my safehouse mum says is NOT nice….like I care what she thinks!
My safehouse mum is very kind and cleans me out when I am up and about, which means she does it when I want her to Ha ha! I am not “hand tame”….no idea why I should want to be. When I am not napping I do love to play with toys (reminds me of my younger days). I love my food (WHEN I AM AWAKE) I like toast or weetabix for breakfast, lots of fruit and veg and a nice hot dinner, pasta is a favourite oh and some good quality seed which I will throw all over the floor….keeps you humans busy I do have a sing now and then which is lovely (and not to noisy says my safehouse mum). I had a horrible clip when I came in and my safehouse mum thought I wouldn’t be able to fly, but I proved her wrong and can now fly albeit not very well. I will take food from your hand….well I am not stupid!!!! I am tolerant of being sprayed for a bath, I will just stand there and let you get on with it……silly humans, but if you expect me to get in a bowl of water and wash myself….well forget it! Did I mention that I am 40ish, so I am old, so come on someone must want to wait on me in my retirement?
I am currently living in Maidenhead, without cage.
Poppy the Red Fronted Conure - 1340
My name is Poppy and I am a Red Fronted Conure.
I came from a very loving home but I was a bit of a bully to the other bird there. I think I would prefer to live in a home with very few or no other birds. If I *have* to live with other birds, I would rather not be in the same room as them.. they stress me out. I've been frustrated by life in the past and have plucked a few of my feathers.. silly I know, but how else could I show my frustration? Now I must admit that I can be noisy at times and I don't really like humans that try to pet me but I can be very sweet at times. I can also be a tad territorial of my cage.. it's my home after all! I am just happy to sit on my stand or on my chosen human and just chill out most of the time. Speaking of humans, I tend to prefer men and will step up when I'm in the mood. Just take it slowly with me as I'm a bit nervous. I *love* my toast in the mornings and I like a little fruit and veg.
I'm currently living in Devon but sadly I don't have my own cage.
Olly the Patagonian Conure - 1175
My name is Olly and I am a Patagonian Conure.
I have been told that for a conure, I am relatively quiet. I don't screech at all but I do occasionally make a barking noise. I like to talk to humans though and when you talk to me I will come over to you and chatter back. I'm afraid I am not really hand tame and I do bite.. maybe you can work with me on that? I love being out of my cage and I will happily site on the top for as long as you will allow me to. I love my food and can be quite messy with it. I especially love my toast and honey.. oh oh, and fruit and veg. I don't really mind other birds, but got a bit stressed at my safehouse when I saw another conure like me.
I am currently living in Guidford and I'm afraid I don't have my own cage.
Charlie the Patagonian Conure - 1152
Hello everyone,
My name is Charle and I am approx 7 years old. I am a patagonian conure. I am a very nice looking boy now, but when my mummy bought me I was very unhappy and plucked my feathers out, I was in a pet shop window and my mummy didnt think that was good so she bought me. I can talk a little and I do like to come out and play when I have gotten used to you. I do have a couple of colourful words that I can say but I dont say them very often.
I dont mind little people as long as they dont put their fingers in my cage and those four legged things that bark are alright too. I really do like the ladies, well hey I am a male so they say!! and will sit on your shoulder and play with your hair. I am not too sure about men, I suppose they might be ok given time and patience.
I do have a cage of my own, but my carer doesnt think it is too good, so has popped me into another one for now. I do have some toys but some new ones would be nice. The only things you cant replace are my tent and my swing. I love my swing.. Oh and I should add that I eat ExtraVital food and dont mind some banana or grapes, but you have to hand feed me these. I will eat whatever you are having and if I am out at teatime I will help myself to your tea too!!!
I am currently living in the West Midlands..
Alyx the Ringneck Parakeet - 1003
Hey There, I'm Alyx !
So I'm looking for a new home. Can you help with that? I am a lovely little bird if I do say so myself and will make a great companion to someone that is willing to spend the time to get to know me. I do nip when I first meet people but I will become friendly with time. I can be a bit of a bully to other birds at times until I get to know them and settle in, then I can be actually very sweet. I do lots of silly things and am very intelligent. I prefer to step up on arms rather than hands, although I will to that occasionally too.. especially when I've gotten to know you. I can be quite mischievous and sometimes a little noisy, but not all the time. I like all kinds of foods and pellets to eat... yummy.
I have my own cage with lots of great toys and am currently living in Redcar, Cleveland.
Jasper the Orange Winged Amazon - 1116
Hiya everyone,
My name is Jasper and I am an Orange Winged Amazon, I came to Birdline when the people who had me couldnt keep me anymore, I was found under a car so no one knows how old I am. I dont know how to step up but with time I would be willing to learn, I am just a bit scared of hands at the moment. I can talk and I make some nice clicks and pops!. I love my toys especially the one with the bell on which I like to ring!, I also love listening to the radio (some interesting stuff on there!). I do like attention and I like to join in conversations. I have no problem with those 4 legged hairy things that bark. Has anyone got a small space in their home and thier heart that I can occupy?
I am currently living in Walsall
Ollie the Mitred Conure - 1117
Hey dudes ! My name is Ollie and I'm a Mitred Conure. I'm a happy chappy and I've been told that I'm a lovely natured bird.
I love a good head tickle when in my cage but I don't really like to be touched when out of cage. I'm easy to get back in my cage by simply opening the top and I'll go straight in. I can sometimes be a bit nippy but not in any aggressive way, it's just my nature. I must admit that I do love the attention of other birds but I don't really like smaller birds.
I think my new home should already have some feathered friends that I can play with. I love to just play and chew ! Oh and I have a bit of a confession.. I love to make noise, especially in the morning and evening ! I can also be noisy when I see my human friends eating.. I wanna eat too ! My current home is trying to stop this though and that's probably for the best.. maybe you can help with that too ?
Nice to meet you.. take care !
Pepe the African Grey
Hi, I am Pepe an 11 year African Grey.
I’m afraid I am a little plucked on my chest. I love women but I will only tolerate men. I can also tolerate other birds as long as I have my own space.. not too close please. I enjoy all my food my safe-house mummy gives me. I love my cage close to the window so I can watch the world go by when I am not out of my cage. I do prefer to be out of my cage though and much as possible. I also love going outside in the warm weather. I can talk and mimic all sorts of words and sounds. I like to sit next to my safe-house mummy in the evening and tell her “I love you”, “Pepe’s a good boy”. I sometimes like a cuddle but not always.
I am currently living in Devon and I come with a cage.
Cordy and Pefa the Alexandrine Parakeets
We are two female Alexandrines, very easy to look after, all we need is food water and some boxes to hide under. We came from different homes but we have struck up a friendship and live very happily together. Pefa is not hand tame, Cordy can speak some but again not hand tame. We are a pleasure to look after an are no trouble at all. We are not noisy but very entertaining.
We are currently living in Manchester.
Sunny & Blue, Blue 2 & Pater the Budgies
These four budgies live in two cages, 2 in each, they came from the same donator. They have been in current safehouse for some months. They have their own cages, but one needs changing for a bigger cage. They are not hand tame although the safe-house has been working with them. Currently safehoused in Chorley, Lancs.
Jamie the Indian Ringneck Parakeet
Hey there. I am Jamie and I am a male Indian Ringneck parakeet. I am a cheeky chappy who will happily step up once bonded. I love to walk and I will happily walk around the floor all day if allowed. I don’t really like other birds though to be honest. I need to be kept in a main living area where I can chatter and play with my toys. I am not noisey and I just love to watch the telly. I would make an ideal companion bird and I am very special, if I do say so myself.
I am currently living in Birmingham.
Sid the Umbrella Cockatoo - 1536
I am a handsome Cockatoo, fully feathered and a lovely, lovely bird. I love to be tickled and stroked inside and outside of the cage. I am not particularly noisy for a Cockatoo, but will call for attention. I need a home where I can get a lot of one to one encouragement as I am a nervous bird in desperate need for physical touch. I was a sad bird but will benefit from a home where someone can spend more time with me. A home without cats, dogs or children but I don’t mind other birds as long as they are not too close. I was inherited by my last owner about two years ago and she did not let me out of the cage for a long, long time because when I was out I jumped onto the cockatiel-budgie cage and scared the birds inside. No one knows if my intentions were curiosity or aggression.
Since I have been in my safe house I have started to come out of my cage and now spend hours out, watching the world go by. I love to play on the cage with the inside of a toilet roll. My safe house Mummy covers me at night with the front of the cage left uncovered. I will persistently try to remove the cover which is now pegged down at the top. Spoilt my game! Before I came to Birdline I preferred females to males but since I have been safe housed I have fallen in love with my safe house Daddy and am starting to learn to step up. I will try to get back onto my cage if you start to move away from it (a security thing) when I am on your hand, but on one occasion I have been brave and my safe house daddy has removed me from the cage onto his lap. With the right encouragement I will improve. I will occasionally take a piece of banana from your hand, and even though I don’t like your human food my safe house mummy persistently puts it in my cage and I keep throwing it out. I like Tidy mix and I like sugar cane but I love bananas. I will need a large new cage with toys and plenty of wood to chew.
I am currently living in Kent.
Charlie the Senegal - 1208

Molly & Mango the Senegals - 1335

We are currently living in Essex. I'm afraid we don't have our own cage.
Harvey the Orange Wing Amazon - 1543
Hello everybody my name is Harvey and im an Orange Wing Amazon.
I love my food and I like to have my head being tickled but when ive had enough I will sometimes bite just to let you know I don’t want it done anymore. Anyway I prefer the ladies but some men are okay. I don’t like coming out of my cage very much but when no ones looking I will sneak out and then quickly go back in but you would never of know ive done it unless you catch me. hehe. I am currently living is Brighton.
Henry the Mealy Amazon - 1128
Hello
I'm Henry. I am a large Mealy Amazon. I am about 23 years old. I am a quiet bird. I love to come out and sit on my cage. Sometimes i will let people stroke me. I will do almost any thing for a walnut. I love toys out of my cage. I would like a quiet home with someone who wants a bird to chat too but not cuddle. I must go to a home with out children because i love them so much that i get very protective over them and will bite adults that go near them. Don't think bad of me i just love them so much i want them all to myself. I have a few feathers missing form my wing. An old injury. It's not a problem, it just means that i fly like a brick. (well to be honest that could also be because i like my food a little to much.)
I have my own cage and i live in Brighton.
Ollie & Harry the Mitred Conures - 838 & 692
Hey There,
Our names are Ollie and Harry. We originally came into Birdline seperately, but whilst at our safehouse we met for the first time and became very good friends. We are now inseparable. We love our food and will eat almost anything you will give us. Our favourite food is porridge with honey... mmmmmm sticky goodness. Although we are happy to take food from people, we don't really like hands and shy away from human contact. We have a good selection of toys, but our favourite is the mirror and bell.
We are currently living in Stafforshire and come with a cage.
Jasper the Conure & Oliver the Yellow Crowned Amazon - 1210a/b
Hey There,
My name is Jasper and my friend is called Oliver. Although we are not bonded, we really need to stay together. I am a little bit timit of humans but will take food from hands.. Oliver is much the same. Oliver loves to play with his toys, but I'm not really into that stuff. We both eat and drink well and are generally well rounded birds.
We are currently living in North Yorkshire but we have no cages.
Note: More information to follow on these birds.
Weenie & Rainbow the Rosellas - 1210c
Hi, my name is Weenie and my friend is called Rainbow. We have lived together our whole lives and will need to be rehomed together. We both share the same cage and we wouldn't have it any other way. Although we are not hand tame, we are lovely little birds and we are not bothered by other pets. We eat and drink well and we are not too noisy.
We are currently living in North Yorkshire, but I'm afraid we don't have a cage.
Ferdinand the African Grey - 405
Well Hello,
My name is Ferdinand. I am a little timid and I haven't yet learnt to step up. I prefer my own company to be honest. I do like tickles though the cage bars though.. silly chap I am. I can talk well but unfortunately I also know a few colourfull words.. maybe you can teach me new words to replace them?
I am currently living in the Midlands and I have my own cage.
